I've made numerous revisions to the case and had to roll back the lid to an earlier design as surprisingly, it was a better fit. Now the pcb and lid are both a friction fit into the case, with screws through the posts and pcb corners being optional if you feel the need/desire to do so. I still need to sort out the buttons and the led lights and am toying with a couple of ideas for each, but the basics of the case are effectively ready

n.b. to those printing, it WILL print and be useable if you print without supports, but it will be a lot more sturdy if you include removable supports.

Here are some pictures of the case, the changes from this to the current one are mostly cosmetic.

Here's the entire album including some of my failed early attempts for your amusement..

I relocate the fan as it turns out that it was interfering with some components on the board.

That being said, I've got no idea how many people will actually end up using my design due to the cases that jaguarboard are now selling. Hopefully it's still helpful to some people.

Nice design there, I really like it being form fitting and fully enclosed. I'm sure some people will give it a go since it's much cheaper to print your own case rather than purchasing one.

Is there a link to the cad file so I could give it a go?

How are you powering the fan?

Thanks, It's taken a lot of time to get it this far, even before I realised I had stuffed up the fan mounting location. There were a couple of designs out there, but none that were sufficiently enclosed for my liking.

Initially i powered it by soldering fly leads to the power jack. Then I realised there are two solder pads at the front of the board that it is intended for you to tap power from and rerouted the power feed from there, and yes I felt quite silly when I realised this..

I still want to do something for the LED lights & power/volume buttons. I've just not gotten around to doing it just yet though.

Yes it's taken a while, but here's a slightly improved version of the case with the most important modification being the relocation of the fan to somewhere that is actually useable. I've still not sorted the buttons out, I'l do that in the near future.
