I've been working on a case too, though mine is fully enclosed and will use a fan to draw air out, which in theory should be better in terms of dust accumulation than pushing air in. Though I guess if you really want you COULD turn the fan around and push air in instead. I'm still very early on in the design phase and although I have gotten the mounting, internal clearances and almost all of the port layout sorted (mic & speaker port still to be done) I've got a few things like fan, vents and button extension to sort out yet.

I'm using the design of this case as a way to learn how to use cura & sketchup, so it may take a little while to have something to show for it, but my intention is to make a design that I would be happy to pay a modest sum for the printed version of.

To the OP, thanks for the idea r.e. fans

Here is a work in progress case that I'm in the middle of testing,

At this point I don't recommend printing it out as I haven't done so myself, and am making some final adjustments on the case.

Things I know I need to do:
* Feet.
* Recesses for counter sunk screw heads.
* Verify clearances and fit between board case and cover.
* Design mounts for power buttons & the buttons themselves.
* final finish of the outside of the case.
* incorrect (zero) recessing on underside of case for components to fit, this needs to be amended.

On top of this there may be unforeseen things I need to modify to make it fit together

I know we have a case already drawn by one user. I'm not good at drawing stuff at all, but wanted to see if someone could add some stuff to their case. Some of us have the USB hub and I was wondering if anyone thought about mounting it into the case. Yes I realize the case would have to be bigger than the board. Also not sure if it's possible , but run the hub off the UART pins. I am going to try and draw what it would look like and maybe someone can build a case around my drawing.

I really like that idea and might have to give it a try. I have the USB dongle as well, and hadn't thought of integrating it into the case. I think there are a couple clever ways one could accomplish it. I'll see about giving it a go this week and getting something printed up.

The first thing that comes to mind is using the vertical usb port and directly connecting a naked usb hub, either the included hub or a pi zero hub like this.

Incidentally the case has been revised/updated. I've sorted out most of the the silly little problems I hadn't yet fixed in the first revision.
