Installation of JaguarBoard Operation System

JaguarBoard supports multiple operation systems, linux, windows, andriod an so on. Here we installed ubuntu system, as for  process of installation, please refer to installing ubuntu on PC or ask JaguarBoard technical support for help.

Install XBMC for JaguarBoard

XBMC (XBMC Media Center) is a free open source media center. It can support almost all kinds of popular radio and video formats, and network media protocols. It can scan your PC automatically and set up media data bank, and make your PC be a multimedia entertainment center with full functions. It supports Linux, OSX, Windows, ATV-ATV2, IOS, OSX-OSXPPC, XBMCbuntu adn so on.

Installation process:

sudo apt-get install python-software-properties pkg-config
sudo apt-get install software-properties-common
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:team-xbmc
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install xbmc

Set and Boot XBMC

Input "xbmc" on terminal.

We could see JaguarBoard has started XBMC normally on HDMI.

Set Language

Settings - System - Video Output - Display Mode ——> Windowed

Settings - appearance - Skin -Font ——> Arial based

Settings - appearance - International - Character Set ——> Chinese Simplified(GBK)

Settings - appearance - International - Language ——> Chinese (simple)


Local Video Playback

  1. JaguarBoard supports TF card, please insert your TF card into JaguarBoard TF card slot.
  2. Click: Video ——> File ——> TF card

    Choose the video you want to play.

    Of course, if network is available, you could see live webcast anytime.

Add a Remote Control for your JaguarBoard

You could make your cellphone as a remote control for JaguarBoard.

  1. Log in your App store, and download xbmcremote
  2. Set connection
    Notice: You'd better set a static IP for your JaguarBoard.

    Click to set IP address.

    Try to connect, you will see device access on HDMI.
